I made it back

I finally managed to upload the photos of the bust it did for the Bombala Cancer Care group's exhibition Bust or Square for Cancer. My bust is called "My Colourful Life". I painted it the colours of the rainbow. Using wide white satin ribbon as a sash wrote my life story on the sash. I tried to have the story with no identifies to me but then stuffed up and wrote Andrea's Ark right near the bottom. I was not impressed with myself as I wasn't going to do it again. I had written out 3 drafts to make sure they fitted on the sash and the deadline was approaching.  I broke up the text by using rub-ons. I then grabbed my cases of cardstock scraps and punched out flowers in a three shades of each colour. I shaped all the flowers and layered them and adhered them to the bust. I also punched out one butterfly for each colour.
Using Ranger's Liquid Pearls I put a little drop in the centre of each flower and down the body of the butterfly. The red was Ranger's Adirondack Pearl and I mixed that with blue Liquid Pearls to get the purple as I couldn't get any locally at that time. The Liquid Pearls really gave it a left and they are so easy to use. What to you see what else I have been creating with them. That's for another post.

My friend Wendy and I went to the exhibition on the Friday and I won a Special Judge's Award. So excited. Apparently the lady judge was fascinated with my bust and read my life story and was really impressed. I put it up for Silent Auction and it sold as well so I am very pleased. They are going to have another exhibition next year and I can't wait.

I am slightly more organised now and you won't have to wait so long for the next post. I have been making a few cards thta I would like to share.
 Till then, bye Andrea
